Program Director Job Description

Percent of FTE: 100% 

Supervisor: Executive Director 

 

The Program Director is responsible for the planning, oversight and implementation of programmatic and administrative functions for the agency. He or she is also responsible for ensuring compliance with budget and data collection needs. Evenings and weekends are required as needed. 

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS 

 

Administrative 

Supervises Program and Administrative Assistant 

Supervises Events & Marketing Coordinator 

Supervises Detail Cleaner 

 

Program Duties 

Organizes and maintains confidential records 

Maintains relationships with service providers 

Recruits program participants in person and through written communication 

Prepares and complies with annual budget for programs 

Collects program data and statistics 

Evaluates activities and events 

Provides information and referral services to individuals, families and the general public 

Provides education to service groups and grant organizations 

Develops and revises programs to meet community needs 

 

Life Academy 

Teaches self-advocacy skills through Life Academy Program 

Provides support to individuals enrolled in Life Academy 

Plans and coordinates regular meetings for Life Academy (through area service providers) 

 

Retail Internship Program 

Plans and coordinates the curriculum for the Retail Training Program 

Interviews and hires Retail Training participants 

Supervises Retail Training interns 

Serves as the liaison between retail interns and the store manager 

 

Healthy Life Program 

Plans and implements a health and wellness program 

Partners with local service agencies to schedule sessions 

 

Special Events 

Plans and coordinates special events as needed 

 

Fills in for the Executive Director as needed 

 

Performs all other duties as requested by the Executive Director 

 

Qualifications 

Bachelor’s degree in human services related field or equivalent experience; required 

Computer skills and expertise in the use of email, Microsoft Excel, Word and Publisher; required 

Supervisory experience; required 

Ability to work well with people; required 

Excellent organizational skills; required 

Ability to manage multiple priorities; required 

 

Ability to work remotely: Occasional; must be available to staff

Assistant Store Manager Job Description

Percent of FTE: 100% 


Supervisor: Store Manager  

 

The Assistant Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of The Arc Attic Treasures and supervising retail staff, volunteers and community service workers in the absence of the store manager. 

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS 

 

Cashiering 

Reviews pricing of items, noting price changes or sale items 

Operates the cash register and credit card machine 

Accurately makes change for customers 

 

Sorting/Pricing 

Sorts donations according to standards set by store policy; monitors the sorting of other staff 

Prepares items for sale 

Prices items according to standards set by store policy; monitors the pricing of other staff 

Stocks shelves and racks while ensuring items are appropriate quality 

Maintains cleanliness of sorting area 

Takes out garbage, breaks down boxes 

 

Customer Service 

Greets customers/donors 

Informs customers of special sales and promotions  

Assists with loading and/or unloading items as needed 

Assists customers in locating items and/or prices 

Answers incoming calls and arranges for pick-up of goods 

Monitors back room and retail floor to reduce instances of theft; informs manager of suspicious activity 

Maintains appearance and cleanliness of store and back room 

Maintains appearance and cleanliness of restroom and break areas 

 

Administrative 

Fills in as needed to ensure adequate store coverage 

Ensures sale signs are posted for the next day; prepares new signs 

Accurately prepares deposits and transports money to the bank nightly 

Stays up-to-date and knowledgeable on the store’s point of sales system, credit card machines and other equipment 

Updates the electronic message board and Facebook

Fills in for Store Manager 

Implements store policies and procedures 

Implements loss prevention policies 

Implements policies for throwing and use of recycling truck 

Implements policies for adequate rotation of merchandise 

Implements pricing standards, discounts and/or promotional sales 

Resolves customer complaints 

Ensures quick and efficient customer service 

Ensures merchandise is of good quality and priced appropriately 

Ensures merchandise is well stocked and organized 

Prioritizes the workload of oneself and others 

 

Supervising 

Plans, assigns and supervises the work of staff, volunteers and community service workers 

Manages staff problems and complaints until they can be brought to the attention of the store manager 

Keeps confidentiality 

 

Performs all other duties as requested by the Store Manager 

 

Qualifications 

High school diploma or GED equivalent; required. 

One year of retail experience; preferred. 

Ability to accomplish addition, subtraction, multiplication and division; required. 

Ability to read and write signs and pricing stickers; required. 

Ability to work well with people; required. 

Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds; required. 

Ability to reach over the head with arms extended, horizontally and vertically; required. 

Full use of fingers, hands, arms, legs and feet; required. 

Ability to stoop, crouch, kneel and bend; required. 

Ability to work in an environment with dust and various vapors; required 

Ability to work under extremely hot or cold conditions; required. 

Consistent attendance; required. 

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods; required. 

Ability to manage multiple priorities; required.

The Cashier/Sorter is responsible for operating the cash register, sorting and pricing goods and providing quality customer service.
